A MESSAGE FROM DG&CO.
from founder and CEO, Gio de Guzman
First of all, I would like to thank our supporters who trusted us, believed in us, and continually support us. We couldn't have done it without you.
I rarely send a message on behalf of the brand, as I mainly work behind the scenes along with my other partners. But today, I wish to present to you personally De Guzman & Co. as a brand we envisioned then, where it is now, and where we are going.
De Guzman & Co. as a brand has focused mainly on providing one of the best value-proposition, classically inspired watches. Value-proposition has always been the focus of our brand, bringing to people watches with quality and specifications above what its intended price make it out to be. This is especially stark when put aside other brands that we compete against. We always benchmark our watches with the current trends of watches and their price points and always ask the question: "If I were still that budding watch enthusiast back then, would I want this?" This mantra helped guide us in creating our watches, and helped ground ourselves in the sea of microbrands. Although this was our brands focus on its first year, we believed that our brand lacked its own identity among the sea of microbrands and blended among all the other brands worldwide. We felt the urge to move away from an homage perspective, to one of our own identity.
Our Initial Release: The heavily homage based DG002
From 2020 to 2021, we focused on the creation and the improvement of our models from the now discontinued, heavily homage based DG002 to the largely applauded DG008.
In 2021, we focused on slowly introducing more unique design elements that relate to our Filipino heritage but still hearken to classic watch design. The introduction of the DG005 taking cues from the 1016 Explorer and the change in style to the DG008, our first watch featuring Baybayin numerals, was a grand turn in the style and identity of De Guzman & Co. We shifted from a brand creating vintage inspired watches with a strong hold on homages to a brand that created for itself its own identity while still maintaining its classic inspiration and value proposition.
The largely applauded DG008
This 2022, De Guzman & Co. will still maintain its new unique brand identity but with a focus on technical force. 2022, we believe will be our year of Complications.
Our team has been hard at work with our partner manufacturers here in the Philippines and abroad. This 2022 we will be introducing more unique pieces and accessories created by our local makers, from locally made leather straps to unique woven watch rolls, expect a more unique showcase of Filipino craftsmanship this year. On the technical aspect, our strong partnership with our international partner manufacturers in Asia enable us this year to bring to you a higher technical focus on our watches. Expect to see complications to be released this year along with our classic three-hand models. These complications help further De Guzman & Co. into creating watches that supersede our own creations, and help bring focus to the Philippine microbrand scene.

We are more than excited to present to you our creations this year, and we thank you for supporting us. We are still a young company with much to learn, but we thank you for believing in us and being here with us in our journey. We thank you for supporting us these past years and may 2022 be the year for everyone.
